Just todae while at work, i was also taking some time online to do some updates on my Blog(Eating Snake). It was then on MSN that one of my colleagues, -Xue-, commented that my blog was getting "boring" because it's all just about Guitar, Guitar and Guitar so far and it was uninteresting for her to read my blog subsequently. Lolz.Well, i guess it was a good suggestion brought up by her and thus this time, I've decided to post something on a different and lighter topic! Yesh! CHILDHOOD SHOWS. haha.
Well, if you guys out there are living in Singapore, you might have known that Mediacorp is actually offering ONLINE broadcasts of their past/present TV shows. By paying a yearly or 6mthly subscription fee, you could access to many shows which they have posted online (Damn i sound like i'm promoting and advertising for their service.lol). Ok cut the bullshit. I was actually fortunate enough to have Ivan, my buddy, to "offer" his userid to me for usage. Thus, i began watching back old Childhood shows manz....
Do you recall the following "OLD SCHOOL" shows?
+ Gosh! This is like my ALL-Time Favourite show when i was still schooling in Primary School! It's a Vampire-Themed drama starring Chew Chor Meng, Florence Tan, Pan LingLing and Huang Yiliang. It's somewhat similar to the HongKong Version of "I have a Date with the Vampire" though, but i still prefer the local one.

+ I would say this is by far one of the most HEARD OF and FAVOURITE drama for most people! It's the show which got everyone of us(kids) to get interested in Card games and i recalled that my friends and I were so crazy and obsessed that we were actually learning Card Tricks in school and at home, or even to the extent of Stapling the cards together so that you can do tt ZAI "shuffling" trick. Urmx, sounds familiar to any of you guys? Haha.

+ I think this is probably the ONLY tv drama shown that even teachers and parents are giving their support and consent for their children to watch it at night( at least for me). Well, this show basically portrays the Life in Singapore back in the 1940s, before and after the WW2 struck Singapore. Therefore, this show was deemed to be an entertaining and educational historical lesson to all the younger generations.

+ Another one of my Favourite shows starring the Fann Wong and Christopher Lee. I think it was this show that brought these 2 celebrities together right? HAHA, and yes, this show is definitely much better than the current China Version of "Return of Condor Heroes" shown on ChannelU now(although that "Xiao Long Nu" is much cuter).

+ My colleague, -Xue-, gave thumbs up for this show, but I could not even remember what this show was about. Was it about a group of people selling Tofu on the streets? Hahaha.
+ This show might not seem very familar to people my age, because it was filmed back in the late 80s( I think ) and everyone looked so young in that show. This caught my attention because it was a show depicting the NS life back in Singapore. Well, watching this show kinda brings back the good and bad times of my NS days and thus, i would say it's a SHOULD watch show for guys!
Well well, these shows aint the only Favourite ones and I'm still hoping that MediaCorp will post more OLDER shows online really soon. In my opinion, I would still prefer shows shown years back as compared to present shows. local dramas these days lack original content and ideas which can truly capture a person's attention, and that's probably why my family's switching to foreign dramas (Jap,Korean) instead.
The one thing i hated most is the modern effects used on drama scenes, i.e the new sound, computerised visual effects which make the outcome more "fake" and exaggerated. You might say I'm just being biased but all in all, I'm still the OLD-SCHOOL LOVER. Haha.
Hope this post does bring back some childhood memories in you. Chill.
